Frequently Asked Questions

Follow these bamboo sheet washing instructions for long-lasting softness:

  • Machine wash cold (30°C or below) on a gentle cycle.  If you are washing your duvet cover, make sure to unbutton the opening first
  • Use liquid, dye-free detergent, as dyes in common detergent may cause staining
  • Avoid using powder laundry detergents, as they are more abrasive and can damage or stain the fabric
  • The use of fabric softener is not recommended as it can damage the fabric
  • Avoid bleach & dry-cleaning
  • Tumble dry on low heat
  • For a polished look, iron on low heat

Yes, but low heat only. Air drying is best to preserve fabric quality.

As bamboo fabric tends to be quite absorbent, try treating the stain quickly by following these steps:

1. Pre-treat with a mild dye-free spray stain remover and let it sit for a couple of hours before washing. For stubborn stains such as:

Oily stain: use a mix of baking soda and water, let it sit for 15min and gently brush it off with a very soft-bristled brush (like a baby toothbrush or soft clothing brush).

Make-up stain: pre-treat it with some dye-free and fragrance-free dish soap.

Organic stains (like blood or sweat): soak the area in cold water first for a couple of hours before washing.

2. Wash in cold water to avoid the stain to set in further

3. Do not soak in hot water, as it this can cause the bamboo fibres to shrink which can set the stain permanently

4. Avoid powdered detergent and stain remover, as well as bleach, as they are more abrasive and can damage the fibres

5. Do not dry clean as the harsh chemicals used can weaken the natural fibres

Bambaw Cozy’s high-quality OEKO-TEX® 100 certified bamboo sheets are less prone to pilling, but minimal pilling can occur with rough use or improper washing.

Here is how to keep them smooth

Wash inside-out to reduce friction

Use a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent

Avoid washing with rough fabrics (e.g., denim or towels)

✓ Air-dry or tumble dry on low heat—high heat weakens fibres

If mild pills appear, gently remove them with a fabric shaver.

Yes! A gentle pre-wash enhances softness and removes any residues.

Bamboo viscose fibres are naturally smooth and lightweight, which can lead to slight wrinkling after washing, especially if left crumpled.

To minimise wrinkles

  • Remove promptly after the washing and/or tumbling cycle ends and give them a good shake to prevent  deep creases from setting in
  • Avoid overloading the washing machine or dryer to reduce friction
  • Iron or use a steamer on low heat to give it a nice polished look

Even without ironing, Bambaw Cozy’s bamboo sheets will smooth out naturally after a little while once placed on your bed.

We recommend limited fabric softener use for Bambaw Cozy’s bamboo bedding.
